Lorna Driver-Davies is the nutritional and naturopathic consultant for Herbs Hands Healing. Together with Herbs Hands Healing’s co-founder, master herbalist Jill Davies, Lorna has helped to develop new products that focus on using herbs as foods. Lorna says, “People forget we used to eat so many herbs alongside our normal everyday meals: not just culinary herbs such as thyme and rosemary but also, for example, nettle, chickweed and lavender“. Lorna is a qualified naturopathic nutritional therapist and herbal medicine dispenser; her company provides individual health consultations (combing herbs and nutrition) and bespoke health packages in London. Lorna regularly contributes to the media on nutrition and is also part of the senior nutritional technical team at The Nutri Centre. Since 2009, Lorna has created and lectured on a short course entitled ‘Herbs for Everyday Living’ at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) – for more details.
Using herbs in your life can be the key to vibrant health and wellbeing. With so many herbs to choose from, the subject can be overwhelming without professional assistance.
About the course
Herbs can be used in the kitchen as food or to support the self-healing mechanism of the body. The course provides an understanding of how everyday herbs can be used as medicines for the whole family.
The members of the Association of Master Herbalists (AMH) practise a form of natural healing that includes herbal medicine and a blend of naturopathic techniques such as detoxification, nutrition, hydrotherapy, fasting, flushing and other ways to assist the patient back to health. The Association’s roots go back to Dr. John Christopher, with Dr. Richard Schulze personally teaching many of its current practitioners. The AMH’s website has an easy-to-use directory of members, which includes many of Jill Davies’ colleagues, and is highly recommended as a useful resource to find a local herbal practitioner to work with.
