If you asked me what single herb I’d take to a desert island to keep my spirits up and physical body well, I’d probably say lavender. This thought inspired a delve into ways to keep our spirits up and nerves more stable, the brain calmly alert, and all with the gut settled. Entering the month of December can herald the need for extra happy hormones as increased socialising beckons with the run-up to Christmas and New Year.

This plant is a much-cherished European root for respiratory issues. It`s a standard treatment for stubborn coughs that are tiring and prolonged. As well as most respiratory issues. The biochemistry in the roots is quite complex and the plant is considered a bit of an overall cure-all.
