Keep your Liver Festive Fit
Festive food and drink overload can tire our livers, so it’s good to know some kitchen herbs and foods that will help support it.
Your liver is most active between 1am and 3am each night when it is busy releasing and processing toxins and making new, fresh blood. For this important job we’re ideally asleep, so going to bed before this time and sleeping well is ideal. (Difficult for night workers of course.)
All the kitchen herbs are excellent liver aids, namely rosemary, sage, oregano, basil, bay and coriander. Fresh or dried will work. Then classics like ginger, cinnamon and lemon are excellent choices.
Add to food when you can, make teas or include in smoothies.
For quick support, we have our Lemon & Artichoke Concentrate bitters. Or our dynamic Milk Thistle & Dandelion Formula.
