Walnuts have long been associated with looking like a brain and thereby assigned to brain health but more information has been discovered about walnut containing DHA.
There had been numerous studies on DHA but more recently a UCLA professor of Neurosurgery says that it does more than strengthen synapses in the brain and enhance learning and memory. It is critical for optimal brain health and given enough, it seems that we are then able to provoke our gene patterns back to normal over time, amazing! We can’t make DHA for ourselves so we need to search out foods rich in it, like walnuts, flaxseed (and their oils), most fruit and vegetables, seaweeds and algae.
But what is DHA? It is a naturally occurring Omega 3 fatty acid found in our brain cells but not usually in large enough quantity to help fight disease.
