English Chamomile in Flower

English Chamomile in Flower
Otherwise known as Roman chamomile, these aroma-rich, bitter flowerheads are much less sweet than German chamomile and are not generally used for chamomile tea but make a hugely fragrant essential oil. These plants return each year and happily grow in many areas in England.
The chamazulene in both of these chamomile species is one of the main medicinal components, which is in higher proportions within the German chamomile. German chamomile is an annual and is frequently grown in Egypt, where two harvests a year are possible.
