It’s a premier nerve-calming herb and was used extensively in two world wars to help feelings of anxiety, grief and fear. Yet again it has proved similarly helpful in recent times.

The flowers make a good choice for a morning cup of tea as they will energize and focus the brain while keeping you balanced, steady and grounded.
Two teaspoons fresh flowers, or one teaspoon dried lavender flowers. Pour on boiling water, leave ten minutes and drink.
Or try 3ml of lavender essential oil in your bath for its soothing effects or to ease achy muscles or repair any bruises.
