Our Friendship with Oak Trees
Oak trees are one of the richest habitats for wildlife I’m told. Apparently, hundreds of animals from insects to birds and mammals can be provided with an oak home. I know that around us we’re lucky to have barn owls calling out at night in our local (Norfolk) ancient oaks.
Oak twigs used to be our poor man’s handy toothbrush as their naturally high levels of tannins will tighten our gums, help remove bacteria and clean out cavities.
