The darker the grape, the higher the antioxidant properties. So not only are black grapes excellent anti-inflammatory fruits, they are also natural detoxifiers. The South African, Johanna Brandt, originally brought the grape cure diet to the U.S in 1926 having been diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer.
The famous grape cleanse consist of just grapes and water, starting with small amounts and building up slowly, so that the grape pips and high fibre doesn’t overexert digestion. Whether you choose a pure grape cleanse or simply eat more now that they are in season do make use of their appearance everywhere now. Find a source that doesn’t have pips removed (if you can) which is hard in supermarkets. The pips are detoxifying in their own right and integral to the grape cleanse. (It’s partly why we have pectin in our LiteFlush powder-Part of our bowel cleanse routine).
Purple smoothie-Am or Pm
1 tablespoon of Superfood Plus
2 teaspoons of EnergiRevive
3 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 large handful of grapes.
Here in Norfolk, our own green bunches (sadly not purple grapes) are readying themselves to be harvested and although not very big and a bit on the sour side, hopefully, our sunshine can put a little more sweetness into them.
