Plantain, The Star of our Immugold Herbal Tea
This common wild plant Plantain (Plantago lanceolata and its sister Plantago major) are the stars of our ImmuGold tea. I chose it as the lead herb in this blended immune support tea for both its strongly positive effects on the lungs and its ability to galvanise the bodies own defence strategies.
It contains the constituent plantamagoside, which is similar to the echinosides in echinacea in fact, with a similar molecular structure. [It will work on virus, bacteria and fungi]. Additionally, to this it is a traditional lung herb, specifically thinning mucus and easing bunged up congestion. Whilst its ‘gummy oils’ will soothe irritated dry coughs. Additionally, its plethora of anti-inflammatory compounds will reduce heat and irritation.
Its kept its foliage all through winter and can still be collected and made into fresh teas.
