Mild Pain Relief Tea
Mild Pain Relief Tea
Common to grass verges, fields and urban scrub areas, our native red poppy has been used to make a mild painkiller from its petals into a herbal tea (steeped for 25 minutes) in the past.
Also, in times gone by and when pain relief was hard to come by, a glycerine-based syrup was also made using copious amounts of steeped petals. A beneficial cough syrup, I’m sure, with additional mind-calming qualities.
