Why Echinacea and Thyme are a Good Combination
These two herbs give us the very best of immune system support, here’s why…….
Echinacea root is a very potent immune defender and stimulator, which acts to radically increase fighting components and to upgrade the formation of temporary barriers against invaders. One of its main chemical constituents, polysaccharides, increases immune sites all over the body, not least T-cells and macrophages. Additionally, echinacea has anti-inflammatory qualities which help calm attendant pain. All in all, Echinacea will quickly relieve the severity of any symptoms while working on the problem, not least to alleviate enlarged glands, and ear nose and throat discomforts.
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a highly antiseptic plant, useful in a wide range of chronic and acute immune situations of fungal, bacterial and viral origins. It is also a powerful tonic (adaptogenic). This supportive and rebuilding aspect of thyme alongside its more combative qualities makes it an ideal inclusion for all winter ills and should you succumb it is fantastic for serious chest infections such as bronchitis and pleurisy as well as colds and flu of course!
