Beautiful Comfrey
It has numerous common names one of which is knitbone. This refers to its slippery, mucilaginous roots rich in allantoin (also found in Aloe vera) that can be used as a poultice to speed up breaks and fractures. Particularly useful where a plaster cast is impossible e.g. collarbone or ribs. Did anyone use it in this way?
(Poultice base is ideally castor oil which is also a brilliant bone healer.)
