Kidney Cleanse for Winter Health
Kidney Cleanse for Winter Health
The kidneys do not like the cold or being weakened by it, so colder weather is never the ideal time for these sensitive organs. The kidneys will always need a detox M.O.T. just like the liver and bowel; this prime detoxifier works very hard at excreting unwanted toxins from our system 24/7, therefore some tender help that is specific for supporting and flushing them is a really good idea at least once a year and twice a year as we get older. It goes without saying that drinking enough water day in and day out is vital and not doing so is often the fore-runner to kidney and bladder issues. Water quickly flushes out toxins and with help, any lingering bacteria; try for 6-8 glasses a day. We have a 1-day kidney cleanse for beginners or those wanting little but more frequent cleansing, or you can keep going and do 3-5 days.
Diuretic or water removal foods can help:- parsley, cranberries, watercress, leafy greens, cucumber, celery, cabbage, garlic, and pineapple. Try these as smoothies and in salads.
Of course, we have our Parsley and Cornsilk tea, which is a good stand-alone kidney tea (it’s also in our 28 or 5-day kidney cleanse). It contains juniper berries, dandelion leaf, and parsley leaf. Parsley inhibits the re-absorption of potassium and sodium, which allows excess water to leave the body, in fact, all the herbs really make for fast-acting results (and even help low-level infections).
